Nobody onboard, nobody can stop the plane

The aircraft has been hand started, with nobody inside. The propeller gained power, and the aircraft went out of control. It ran away to the crowd of spectator and mowed down a young girl. Fortunately, she sustained only minor injuries on her face. Nobody else was hurt.

When the plane plowed through the crowd, it looked like it would have injured or killed way more than 4 person. You can clearly see the plane run over at least 2 people. Terrifying.

The pilot of that plane should have his license revoked and be banned from being anywhere within 10 miles of an airplane. You have to responsible for your actions so this idiot should be in Jail

The idea of hand starting a prop is fine, but remember to use the parking brake, throttle at idle, and chauk the wheels. Chasing an airplane that is a runaway is a lost cause, the plane will win every time.

I laughed for the first few seconds then gasped in horror when the camera follows the plane to the crowd of spectators. I know a guy who wrecked his plane and car (with the unmanned plane) this way. In both cases it's plain stupidity!

I agree Zach. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who finds any amusement in this incident is seriously sick and twisted. It was an act of gross negligence that could easily have ended in tragedy!

I have a friend who had a similar experience. The plane had been sitting in the hangar for a few months. The problem was caused by gunk built up inside the engine that made it act as if it was on full throttle. It sent two to the hospital.

I saw this, at an airshow at Mangalore in Victoria. We (WWII re-enacters) were about to put on a show when this plane started screaming. The public bolted in panic into an area where we had trip wire pyro's ready to go, luckily none went off
