The Antonov AN-26 operated by Alfa Airlines (also known as Ababeel Aviation) took off from Khartoum, Sudan, for a charter flight to Talodi, Sudan. 26 passengers and 5 crewmembers were onboard. The plane crashed during a go-around at Taladi airport. All occupants perished in the impact.
The aircraft went around on its first attempt to land in Talodi due to weather but did not manage to climb above the terrain during the go-around. The plane then impacted the side of a mountain.
At the time of the crash visibility was substantially reduced due to a dust and dirt storm in the area.
The plane was carrying a government delegation, including Sudanese Ministers.
