Sacramento, California, USA
Updated on
The aircraft departed Sacramento's Mather Field, California, on a scheduled cargo flight to Dayton, Ohio. Shortly after takeoff, the crew reported a flight control problem to the air traffic controllers, and requested vectors to return to Mather Field for an emergency landing. While turning onto final approach for runway 22R, the aircraft lost control and crashed into an auto salvage yard. In-flight cargo shift or aircraft mechanical failure could be the cause of the accident. The 3 crewmembers died in the accident.
