The Let L-410 operated by Kin Avia took off from Bukavu, DR Congo, for a freight flight to Shabunda, DR Congo. 1 passenger and 2 crewmembers were onboard, as well as 1.6 tons of iron roof sheeting. The plane crashed shortly after takeoff. All the 3 persons onboard were killed. The plane has been destroyed.
About 3 minutes after takeoff, the cargo load shifted backward because of the cargo being not correctly tied up. This caused the aircraft to pitch up until an aerodynamic stall. The aircraft reached a maximum height of about 300 feet, the left wing dropped, the aircraft turned left and violently impacted the ground.
Kin Avia is currently on the blacklist of airlines banned from flying in the European Union.
