Jeju air's Boeing 737 lands gear-up, overruns the runway and crashes in a concrete wall at Muan airport

A Jeju Air Boeing 737-800, carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members on a flight from Bangkok to Muan, South Korea, crashed during landing on December 29th 2024. After being warned of bird activity near Muan Airport’s, the crew reported a bird strike and declared an emergency. The aircraft attempted a go-around. The plane then landed gear-up, touching down more than a third of the way down the runway, skidding on its belly until it went off the runway and collided with an ILS antenna mounted on a concrete wall. The impact disintegrated the aircraft, which burst into flames, leaving only the rear section relatively intact. Of the 181 people onboard, only 2 people, seated at the rear, survived.
