The Shorts 360 operated by Malu Aviation took off from Goma, DR Congo, for a cargo flight to Shabunda, DR Congo. 6 passengers and 3 crewmembers were onboard. The plane was on approach to Shabunda when it impacted ground in Keisha village about 8 NM (15 km) outside the airport. Weather conditions were bad at the time of accident, with low visibility and storms reported in the vicinity. 2 passengers and 3 crewmembers died in the accident. The other occupants were injured.
Malu Aviation is currently on the blacklist of airlines banned from flying in the European Union.
