A Sukhoi Superjet 100-95 operated by Gazpromavia took off from Lukhovitsy Airfield, Russia, for a ferry flight to Moscow, Russia. 3 crewmembers were on board. The plane was climbing through out of Lukhovitsy's airfield when the aircraft lost height and crashed in a wooded area, broke up and burst into flames about seven minutes after taheoff. All the 3 occupants were killed.
The aircraft had been in maintenance in Lukhovitsy and was on its first flight following maintenance. Before the accident, the crew transmitted a distress signal. Preliminary information indicates the Superjet 100-95 was flying at an altitude of 5000 ft (1500 meters) and then sharply began to descend, maybe due to an engine failure. The wreckage was found 56 NM South-East of Moscow.
