Henan Airlines Embraer 190-100LR plane crash

The Embraer ERJ-190 operated by Henan Airlines took off from Harbin, China, for a passenger flight to Yichun, China. There were 91 passengers and 5 crewmembers on board. The plane crashed on landing at Yichung airport. 42 people perished, 7 people received serious injuries and 47 minor injuries.

At the time of the accident, fog prevailed with a visibility of 300 meters (1000 ft) on Yichun's Moon Mountain Municipal Airport. The airplane was cleared to land, the crew reported they had the approach lights in sight. The plane impacted terrain about 1500 meters (4900 ft) short of runway, slid on the grass and split apart. The aircraft came to a rest approximatively 500 meters (1650 ft) from the runway.

A passenger said, that it had been a very smooth flight when the airplane touched down hard and was rocked around. The airplane was distorted and holes were in the fuselage after it came to a stand still. The passenger climbed out of a hole. About 1 or 2 minutes after stand still the airplane erupted in huge ball of fire.
