Chicago (IL), USAA jetliner from Southwest Airlines was performing a passenger flight from Baltimore to Chicago, with 98 passengers and 5 crew members onboard, when it crashed after landing at Midway-Chicago International Airport. The nose landing gear collapsed after the aircraft touched down. Then, The plane went off the end of the runway and slammed through a fence before striking two vehicles. One person in a car was killed while 8 other people in both cars were injured. Onboard, two passengers were injured.

The plane landed in very bad conditions: in extremely low visibility and on a short, snow-covered runway, during a snow storm.
